HarperCollins’ supply chain will be closed from 26th May to 9th June, as the company plans to migrate its services from Bishopbriggs to Robroyston.
The company has informed customers that 30th May will be the last date the Bishopbriggs centre will be dispatching orders.
The newly unveiled HarperCollins Robroyston centre will hold over 56,000 titles in 220,000 locations. Books will be moved and processed by KNAPP logistics automation and the new machines from Jungheinrich.
According to HarperCollins, over 110 million books will leave the site every year, with three million a week being dispatched during the busiest seasons.
The new site also houses much of the publisher’s education and reference division, Collins, and the HarperCollins Archive. It was was unveiled to authors, politicians and business leaders earlier this year.
